break = football football football.... and other sports
Since the start of Christmas break I have done next to nothing that has actually been productive. That being said my break has been filled with many activities mostly done sitting on my couch. This break has been filled with watching tons of bowl games. What a treat. Yesterday I watched three bowls which were all extremely intriging. Northwestern got screwed, Tennessee also kind of got screwed, and I Washington comes up big against Nebraska. I have found out that I love Jake Locker and want the Vikings to draft him. After all the excitement of the bowls yesterday I then ended the night watching Manny Pac-Man Pacqio. What a treat. He is an amazing boxer. Just a treat to take in. So my break by some standards has been wasted. But I say. Bring on ESPN

when studying is to much
Today I had a marketing final. The Prof was gracious enough to give the class a study guide which we needed to fill out. So, last night I put in the correct amount of study time... so I thought. Well long story longer I was over prepared for the dang test. I hate being over prepared. It means I wasted time studying when I'd much rather do pointless stuff such as facebook games or going to bed earlier than 3 in the morning. Well I have three more tests this week and today was definitely the easiest so I don't think the over preparation will be a problem the rest of the way. And another note, lets go Vikings!!!!

the storm
Friday morning I watched the weather and I heard 1-3 inches of snow. I work at the grounds crew at Northwestern College and when ever it snows I have to work. So I thought to myself, "1-3. Thats not bad." Well they were wrong. Today, Saturday, we have gotten about a foot and a half of snow. From what I've heard this is going down as the fourth largest storm in the metro ever, the largest since the Halloween blizzard of 1991. Well if you put one and one together you get shoveling for eight hours.... so far. The crew started at eight this morning and we were able to be done at four. But you guessed it, we are going back at nine tonight, and six tomorrow morning. After all we have done today, it looks like in some places that we have not done anything. It has been a day to remember, that is for sure. Anyone who is thinking about going out on the roads in the metro let me say one thing to you. DON'T !!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is not worth it. The plows are not even going anymore. So warm up with a nice cup of coffee, grab a good book, movie, or loved one, and be glad your inside. Lastly, if you have failed at anything else, you can always be a weatherman.

Movie Review # 1. Winter's Bone
Lately I have been getting into the thriller genre of movies. I was looking through the local red box and saw one that caught my eye. It was called Winter's Bone and the description seemed appealing. It was also a double winner at the Sundance Film Festival and I have always wanted to watch and indie film. So I paid the dollar and seven cents and brought it back to the dorm. The movie is a bit slow in nature but keeps the viewer wanting to know whats going to happen constantly. The main character is a seventeen year old girl who is trying to find her meth dealing father. I do not want to give away much of the movie but it is definitely worth a watch. It will not scare the piss out of you or make your laugh until you cry. It will also not make you wince or cry but rather stir a sense of questioning and great-fullness in your body. In the end it showed me how lucky I am to have what I have and be in the situation I am. I would urge you to watch this movie and would love to see what you think. Post a comment if you have seen it or are going to and tell me what you think.

the day i almost died......
As all of you loyal readers have probably read last night was a late night. I officially called it a night at 6:01 AM. And I started the next day at........ 7:30 AM. An hour a half of sleep and a strenuous day was ahead. Well I made it.... almost. I am an hour and seven minutes away for a long awaited nap and it could not come any sooner. So far today I have head ache (stuffed up beyond belief) and have almost passed out while walking. Overall today has been extremely painful but totally worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YghzzKRqXs
the final product officially on youtube. check it out. wont be dissapointed

late night but soon to be well worth it
This summer I enlisted in Principle of Marketing at Northwestern College with Sara Ring. This class has been mostly a pointless class full of useful information that has been portrayed in a mindless fashion by the professor. This all being said, I think it has inspire me to go into film making. How does a marketing class do such a think you may ask? Well for a final project we had to do an advertisement video for a marketing plan that we had made earlier in the class. This has truly been an eye opening experience. Cyle DeBoer and myself are still awake at 3:17 AM and enjoying every minute. We are making an awesome video that will blow the mind of anyone who has the pleasure of viewing it. I will be posting the video on youtube and this blog so you all should be able to watch it. Definitely getting tired now but still super enjoyable. See you all when I wake up from my nap tomorrow

today. five days until the beginning of hell (finals week)
Today is a day just like any other. I went to class. I worked. I took a nap. I did homework (still trying to make a video). Just like any other day today brings me one step closer to finals week. A week that every college student dreads but also looks forward to being that the semester is finally over. For me this is true more than it has ever been before. This last semester I decided to switch my major from Math Ed. to accounting. This change has played its self out over the last semester in my class schedule. I am in the process of taking 18 credits of business classes and while they have been a great change of pace from math they have been equally challenging and difficult. I am not regretting my decision at all but just realizing that sometimes a person (me) should take some easy classes so finals are not as difficult. The great problem that has arose is that since it is my junior year and I do not want to pay for extra years of school the final 4 semesters that I will be attending school will be just as challenging if not more. All of this stress and hard work for a simple sheet of paper saying "your a college grad. congratulations!!!!". So the debate rages within if this is all worth it. I struggle to motivate myself and do the best work that I know I can do but know that it should be worth it. So as the world spins and the mounting pressures of growing up come down on my shoulders I strive to achieve all that I am suppose to do. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Finals week is almost here which means it is almost over and then I shall ice fish and relax all of Christmas Break
